Since there’s nothing new going on with WMWC here (seriously, current station folk, get in touch!), here’s a little something that WMWC alumni from 1994-2000 will enjoy: 90 minutes of station IDs, carts, ads, etc. from the station.
Eventually I’ll separate out the better ones and add them to an audio archive here, but for now, this is what you’ve got.

Sadly, WMWC has moved out of the attic on the top floor of Lee Hall, which has been its home for decades. The autograph wall and doors o’ stickers will be lost to history, though they’ll live in on the photo section of this site (which sorely needs to be updated). However, there is some good news about the move, which comes courtesy of the current GM Zachary Zuro:
Our new location is in the Woodard Campus Center. Although we had to put our vinyl and turntables in storage for the period of time that we’re located in our interim space, we really like our new location. A lot of interest has been generated simply from being visible to the student body. Also, significant progress has been made towards our goal of campus intranet broadcast.
And now, I’ve got some updating to do to the WMWC site to revive things a bit. Let me know if you want to contribute or help out with maintenance.

I’m the webmaster, so I get to shill for my own show, right?
I’m returning to WMWC tomorrow night, Saturday the 12th from 10pm to midnight. If you’re not out celebrating being Irish even though you’re not, tune in and hear a real (half-)Irishman spin some hip-hop, breaks, soul, jazz, and assorted other good stuff. No matter how down you are, I guarantee I’ll hit you with some stuff you haven’t heard before.
So, c’mon… listen to gramps from class of ‘98 spin some illness that’ll leave you with a heavier hangover than any bar trip could…

DJs,
WMWC needs a couple of people to sit at a table in the Eagle’s Nest from 11-12 and 1-2 this Monday. You’ll just be responsible for answering general questions about the radio station (”We have a radio station?” or “How do I become a DJ?”) and handing out free CDs. Pretty easy, and you win major brownie points for your help. If you’re interested, e-mail Bob a.s.a.p. at amcge4lm@umw.edu with the time slots you can cover.

WMWC will be DJing and sponsoring a booth at The Big Shindig this Friday night between 9 pm and 1 am in Great Hall. We will be needing DJs to sit at the booth during this time. Each shift will last an hour. You won’t be doing anything strenuous, just assisting with the carnival activities we’ve lined up.
If you can help out, please send an email to Bob at amcge4lm [at] umw [d.o.t] edu letting him know what time shift(s) you’re good for. Your help will be greatly appreciated - come out and support the station, and even if you can’t stick around long enough to help, make sure to stop by and say hello.

Attention DJs:
This is late notice but I want to get started on this project so we can tie up some loose ends. We’re doing Brown Bag CD grab (similar to the one we did at Club Carnival) for the LEAP/OSACS Big Shindig event. We’re going to comb through the CDs in the station office and sort them into a few piles: Keep / Give-away Good / Give-away Okay / and Give-away bad . If you’re interested in helping swing by the station tomorrow(Tues. 2/1/05) from 2:00 - 3:15p. I think we’ll only be there for that long considering we only have a few bins to sort through.
